If the Debtor Contacts You, Refer Him Back To Us

How many times have you heard us say that? Probably hundreds of times. Ever wonder why? The simple explanation is to protect your interests.

To begin with, many times they are simply looking to relieve the pressure and are hoping to find a sympathetic ear. Never mind that they ignored all of your efforts to resolve the matter prior to our involvement. All of a sudden, they want to talk to you, the creditor. By even listening to what they have to say, they are convinced they can contact you at their leisure. You may not say anything but, by just listening, they will then tell us they have resolved the matter with the client.

That leads us to the second reason. Debtors sometimes take liberties with the truth. What a revelation! They will tell you that we said things we didn't and will totally misquote you. By "burning the candle at both ends," the debtor has caused us to communicate back and forth with each other just to get the story straight. This takes time which is exactly what the debtor wants. Anything to delay payment.

So the next time a debtor contacts you after placement, simply refer them back to us by stating that we have your complete authority. It's in your best interest.

Thanks,

The Editorial Department
